Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra may retain the same prices as their predecessors in the US, but not elsewhere. A past rumor out of Australia first alerted us to the upcoming price hike, and today’s newly leaked prices for the trio in Europe pretty much confirm the bad news.
The base model of the Galaxy S23 will be €100 more expensive than the base model of the Galaxy S22 (here are all the launch prices from last year for comparison). The base model of the Galaxy S23+ with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will be €100 more expensive than the Galaxy S22+ with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and €150 more than the base model of the Galaxy S22+ with 128GB. storage space.
The base model of the Galaxy S23 Ultra will cost €150 more than the base model of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but instead of 128GB you get 256GB of storage. The S22 Ultra didn’t have an identical version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage that we can directly compare with.
This means that in the cheapest Eurozone countries (due to different VAT levels), such as Germany and Benelux, you should expect to pay €949 for the base model Galaxy S23 and €1,399 for the base model Galaxy S23 Ultra with 8GB of RAM. and 256 GB of storage. The Galaxy S23+ will most likely cost €1,199 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, although this leak doesn’t specifically mention that for such markets.
Germany and Benelux seems to be 949 for S23 base and 1399 for S23U base. No idea about S23+ for those countries. As usual, prices depend on local taxes, duties, etc. There will be some good deals when buying the base model (like upgrading to the next higher memory spec during pre-order)

On the other hand, the tweet embedded above has the full price breakdown for Spain, for all versions of all models (except for the 1TB iteration, as the information here is allegedly from a Spanish retailer and this version may be exclusive to Samsung.com in Spain). The slight difference compared to Germany and Benelux is something that is always present and probably related to the higher VAT in Spain. Here are the above prices in an easier to read format:
|Galaxy S23||Galaxy S23+||Galaxy S23 Ultra|
If that happens, Samsung, like most companies, will respond to inflation by creating more inflation – because that’s literally what price increases do. The irony isn’t lost on us, and it shouldn’t be lost on you either, but if you’re interested in the Galaxy S23 phones, you’re probably in for a bit more savings than you might initially expect. That being said, Samsung generally has pretty decent pre-order deals, and those may take some of the weight out of this price increase.
