The Google Pixel 7 series is Google’s latest update to the Pixel phones, which was released in October 2022. Like its predecessors, there is a basic Pixel 7 and an upgraded Pixel 7 Pro.

The Pixel 7 features a 6.3-inch FHD OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It features Google’s Tensor G2 chip and Google’s Titan M2 security chip with fingerprint and face unlock.

You get a 4,355mAh battery with 30W fast charging. There is a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 10.8MP front-facing camera. The Pixel 7 starts at AUD 999 RRP and is available in Obsidian, Lemongrass and Snow.

As for the Pixel 7 Pro, you get many of the same features as the 7, but a few upgrades where it counts. The 7 Pro features a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with an adaptive refresh rate of 10 to 120 Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back. It also supports ultra-fast mmWave 5G (if available).

The same Tensor and Titan chips are available with the addition of the upcoming Google One VPN. There’s a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging and a triple rear camera setup with a 50Mp wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus and a 48MP telephoto lens with improved Macro Focus, plus a 10.8Mp front-facing camera. The Pixel 7 Pro starts at AUD 1,299 RRP and comes in Obsidian, Snow and Hazel colours.

Google Pixel 6a features and specifications

Google’s budget Pixel 6a is similar to Apple’s iPhone SE and the “FE” version of Samsung’s Galaxy S series — a way to offer some of the brand’s premium features, but in a more affordable package. The Pixel 6a was a late addition to the Pixel 6 lineup, having been released earlier in 2022.

It’s packaged in a similar style to the Pixel 6 series with a black camera stripe, and its display features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 – a step down from the tougher glass used on the 6 and 6 Pro. You get a 6.1-inch OLED display – slightly smaller than the flagship – with a 60Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, you get the same processor found in the flagship Pixel 6 phones. There’s also a dual rear camera setup with a 12.2MP main lens and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, plus an 8MP front-facing camera along with many of the features of its more premium counterparts, such as Night Sight and Magic Eraser.

There is also a 4,400mAh battery, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Pixel 6a retails for an RRP of AUD 749 and is available in Sage, Chalk and Charcoal.
